ISO 9001:2008, EFQM 2010, and KTQ 2009
1.
The DIN ES ISO 9001:2008 is an internationally acknowledged standard for all types of companies. The ISO is much more than just a set of criteria which are to be assessed by auditors with regard to the degree of performance. The ISO digs deep in the process-structure of a company since it defines all businesses in terms of processes. For example, a massage is being assessed starting with the supply of massage oil, than looking at the massage itself, the qualification of the staff, and the degree of satisfaction of the clients.
2.
The "Kooperation für Transparenz und Qualität im Gesundheitswesen" (KTQ®) was founded in 2001. Confined to the health-care industry, it has developed quality criteria and a system how to assess their degree of performance. According to KTQ, there are four different types of company within the health-care industry such as clinics, rehabilitations clinics, medical practitioners, and other social companies. The criteria, which differ according to the type of company, speak the language of health care professionals and are consequently easily understandable for those working in the health care industry.
3.
EFQM belongs to a type of quality management systems within the group of Total Quality Management Systems. As ISO, EFQM is an intersectoral quality management system. But EFQM does not confine to singular quality criteria but offers a stunning approach to improve the management holistically. It bases on long-term considerations as it is a tool to teach the management how to achieve excellence.
